The “Sotdae Floor Lamp” combines two elements by providing illumination without using Ottchil for decorative purposes on the surface of the lighting fixture, but rather by casting light onto it. This lighting fixture dominates the atmosphere of a space by rotating each vertically erected structure and adjusting the direction of light, thereby altering the form of the object itself. Such variations in lighting allow this object to delineate the boundaries of a space and potentially serve as a symbol within it, akin to the traditional Korean ‘sotdae’.
